MY DAD MISSED OUT ON TECHNOLOGY
|| This summary written on 17th October 2023 - 30 days later
I take after my father in so many ways. I have the same “MacGyver” genes! Many of the skills I’ve acquired regarding writing, editing, photography and specialised DIY work, I’ve learnt from watching YouTube videos.
When I think back to how my Dad was, I can say with all certainty that he too would be endlessly watching tutorial YouTube videos, learning about this and that. But he passed to spirit before even the internet was a big deal, let alone smartphones and the like.
Today’s speaker makes a comparison with our world that we live in today and his/her world in their days on earth. Surprisingly he doesn’t suggest he would have liked to life today.
His words made me realise how integrated we become with the evolution that is happening around us. Nothing stands still, including us. So although I believe my dad would have adapted very well in this world today, he lived a full life in the world he was given. That’s all that matters surely.
Additional Thoughts
I’m not a regular drinker of alcohol, unless on holiday. Jane suggested on one night visiting the local night scene that we might enjoy a cocktail. So I indulged in a tequila sunrise - the first cocktail for at least 25 years. I had wanted sex on the beach, but Jane was not up for that!!
