MY MIND IS MAKING SENSE OF IT ALL

It’s only taken 65 years to reach this place, but I believe I’m finally piecing things together regarding the difference between my brain and my mind! I guess it’s because it’s like a pea rattling around inside my skull and has been slow to learn and understand.
Today, as I re-transcribed this session from early April, I found myself understanding the words on a deeper level. One of the worst frustrations us older folks have is contending with our knackered bodies. Bending down now brings with it a groan quite naturally. Whenever I’m on the floor for whatever reason, I always look around me to see if there is anything else I can do whilst I’m there, before groaning and getting back up.
My mind is so youthful, energetic and lively. But it now has to live with a slow, tired and worn out bag of skin and bones. It deserves better. “Tell me about it,” I hear you chuckle.
My late father-in-law, when he was 96 years old, said to me once how frustrated he often got, when his mind wanted to do things that his body could not. The mind operates without the friction, wear and tear of a container made from elements of a body. Even if you believe it is connected with the brain, then that rarely gets exposed to any bumps and scrapes like the external body.
Today’s transcription is quite enlightening and contains one or two gems that should give you some food for though! See what I did there?
