The 2nd Lanzarote Sessions - EP9
ISSUE 131: WFSIW From 16th June 2023: Session 9, Sacrifice
During a two week holiday on the Canary Island of Lanzarote, in June 2023, Trevor sat every day to transcribe spirit-inspired words. The following content is one of the collection of thirteen written during the stay. The photos are from Trevor’s collection taken during the duration.
DAY 9: TODAY’S MESSAGE IS POIGNANT
|| Session 9 of 13
I know that the photos included with these Lanzarote sessions don’t usually have anything to do with the actual sessions, but on this occasion there is a loose connection.
At home, I’m not really much of a drinker, except maybe at Christmas or some random occasion when I fancy one. I’m not a pub-goer and I tend to live like Billy No-Mates! It’s not that I don’t like beer, I just haven’t ever felt a strong desire to consume it that often. That is, unless I’m on holiday.
Because my Jane can’t walk very far these days, we always hire a car on holiday. Everywhere we go, I drive us there. That always concerns Jane. She says I am sacrificing having a drink and feels guilty about it. I don’t. I think it’s a small sacrifice. I suspect there are many others though that would believe that is one sacrifice too much.
Sacrificing something, for the betterment of something else is perfectly good and proper. As this speaker today reminds me, I have always called this a trade-off. Giving something up, in exchange for something else. This ties in with another of my strong beliefs that I call, “stacking the odds”.
I’m never likely to be the finest writer, or the best medium, or a popular social character that everyone adores. But I do stack the odds where I need to, as best that I can. That usually means sacrificing something else. I love mediumship. I love what is has done for me personally. I love sharing my knowledge, whilst continuing to learn. I stack the odds where I can and sacrifice whatever is necessary at that time - within reason.
I witness others that want to be better mediums and talk to me about what it is they need to do. The truth is often that they are not yet stacking the odds and making sacrifices to forward their unfoldment. Their progression of a wish to a want, or a need is halted because of the lack of sacrifice. I’m not just talking these words as passing remarks either. If you want something bad enough, you have to be prepared to sacrifice other things to get it.
Some of the feeble reasons I used to receive from my circle students as to why they were unable to attend a meeting were often ridiculous. A toe-nail clipping party or a night in circle? Really? Yep, that happened! An Ann Summers party or a night of mediumship? More annoyingly, I didn’t get invited to that one.
This session includes one of the easiest ways to communicate with the spirit world and make simple requests. It demonstrates how much we overly complicate the process of connecting with our friends in the next world.
